Published Reinis Grandans article “The alienor expressly declared that the property has certain characteristics in The Civil Law of Republic of Latvia of Section 1620”
Our Law Firm assistant to attorney at law Reinis Grandans has conducted an in-depth research into the issue of the Civil Law norm, which stipulates that “The alienator who has failed to disclose or concealed, in bad faith, certain defects of the property he or she was aware of, or has expressly declared that it has certain characteristics, shall compensate the acquirer for all losses”. The article discusses the current case law in the application of this norm, the findings of legal doctrine, as well as the historical origin of the norm.
